Job Description 

As a Driver Trainer at SCT Logistics based in Altona reporting to the Depot Manager, you will play a crucial role within the crewing department. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering high-quality training to new and existing drivers, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and company standards.
  • Developing and implementing training programmes that focus on safety procedures, operational efficiency, and customer service excellence.
  • Evaluating trainee performance and providing constructive feedback to support their professional development.
  • Maintaining accurate training records and documentation in accordance with organisational requirements.
  • Staying current with industry trends and legislative changes to continuously improve the training curriculum.
  • Collaborating with internal stakeholders to identify training needs and continuously improve the overall driver training process.


Skills And Experiences

Desired Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Proven experience as a professional locomotive driver in the rail industry
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver training and assessment in a vocational education environment
  • In-depth knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance standards in the rail transport industry
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and motivate trainees
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail for developing training programs and maintaining records
  • Current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) or equivalent qualification
  • Current Certificate IV in Train Driving (TLI42622)
  • Valid driver's licence 
  • Sound understanding of safety procedures and protocols within a rail or transport environment
